About Theta

Every student at UBC, whether they have just finished their first day, or their first degree knows that there is so much more to University then simply going to class each day. Whether its intermural sports, student associations, club invovlement, or even just spending time with friends at your favourite campus pub (or ¨bzzr garden¨) there are many different opportunities that enrich your UBC experience.

For me, it wasnt until I became a Theta, that I found the best way to enrich my own, personal University experience. All of a sudden it was remarkably easy to put together a UBCRec volleyball team, find volunteers for my Canuck Place fundraiser, and of course people to hang out with between classes and on weekends.

My involvement in Theta has not only brought me all of these opportunities at UBC, but it has also connected me to an entire network of opportunities everywhere else. Whether its a postgrad job reference, a grant for a leadership conference in California, or simply the opportunity to meet generations of strong, influential women Theta has, and will continue to provide me with wonderful opportunities such as these for the rest of my life.

By exploring our website I hope you have been able to take a glimpse into what it means to be a Theta. For each member, being a Theta, means something a little different, but for all of us it grows to be extremely important and dear to our hearts.

Loyally in Theta,

Sarah Rush
